Scholarships

Scholarships are gifts. They don't need to be repaid. There are thousands of them, offered by schools, employers, individuals, private companies, nonprofits, communities, religious groups, and professional and social organizations.

Illustrating Awesomeness Scholarship

  • Description: Scholarship opportunity for young women or gender non-conforming individuals of color who are actively working to change the world. The scholarship will be applied to tuition for the 2019 Spring semester.
  • Due: Closed for 2023
  • Amount: $750
  • Requirements:
  • Young women or gender non-conforming individual of color
  • Currently enrolled in college/university
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Directions: Fill out application and submit either an essay up to 500 words of a 5-minute video answering the prompt: "Who are you, and how are you going to change the world?"

AICPA Scholarship for Minority Accounting Students

  • Description: The AICPA Minority Scholarship awards outstanding minority students to encourage their selection of accounting as a major and their ultimate entry into the profession. For over four decades, this program has provided over $14.6 million in scholarships to approximately 8,000 accounting scholars.
  • Due: March 1st, 2023 (Opens December 1st, 2022)
  • Amount: Up to $5,000 per year
  • Requirements:
  • Ethnic minority student
  • Pursuing undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting or related major
  • Sophomore standing (30+ credits) by end of spring 2019
  • Above 3.0 GPA
  • AICPA Student Affiliate member (free)
  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Financial need

ACS Scholars Program

  • Description: The ACS Scholars Program awards renewable scholarships to underrepresented minority students majoring in undergraduate chemistry-related disciplines, and are also intending to pursue careers in chemistry-related fields. Selected recipients are awarded up to $5,000* per academic year. To date, over 3,000 students have received a funding from the ACS Scholars Program.
  • Due: March 1st, 2023 (Opens December 1st)
  • Amount: Up to $5,000 per year
  • Requirements:
  • U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resident
  • African-American/Black, Latinx, or Native American student
  • Enrolled in a 4-year university
  • Majoring in chemistry or chemistry-related field
  • 3.0 GPA or above
  • Financial need
